Proactive Partners and Counselors Enabling Growth and Innovation

A Message from Brink's Global Legal Department

Welcome to the Brink’s Global Legal Resource Center. Our vision in the Legal Function is to be “Proactive Partners and Counselors Driving Transformational Growth”. We strive to devise solutions that strike an effective balance between business and legal considerations, taking into account cost, risk and return. We are focused on helping the business to deliver its strategy and our functional strategic goals are aligned with the Company’s four strategic pillars of Growth & Customer Loyalty, Innovation, Operational Excellence and Talent/People.

The development of this site is an example of our work as a function to be innovative by leveraging technology to improve efficiency. We hope to improve our service to you, our clients, by implementing client self-service tools and making those tools and other valuable information available to you here. For example, you can find Ethics & Compliance policies, Corporate Governance information, FAQs and more. To promote growth, we strive to enhance the efficiency and consistency in the contract review process by increasing awareness of key legal risk areas and mitigations through training. To deliver operational excellence we plan to proactively manage legal spend and measure functional performance to enable data-driven decision making. Finally, to position our team to win, we are committed to investing resources to assess and develop our talent across the Legal Team, and to enhance training opportunities for Team members.

Importantly, Brink’s legal support structure varies from country to country. While some countries have in-house counsel (ranging from one attorney to a robust department of more than 10), others rely exclusively on outside counsel. Regardless of the structure, we want to ensure that each country and company in the Brink’s family obtains the legal support that it needs and that there is a consistent approach throughout our operations. To do this, we have implemented a Legal Services Policy, which governs how members of the Brink’s Legal Department approve the engagement of counsel and direct and manage external counsel. The Policy also sets forth the matters that require the involvement of the Legal Department – like contacts with government/regulatory authorities, review of contracts, litigation and disputes, cyber incidents, acquisitions, and certain types of external communications.
